Original StarFury has a 'balance-center' that is MUCH closer to the actual pivot-point upon which the engines inflict a twist or spin under reverse thrusts. The T-Bolt, then has the fore-most cockpit getting the 'Amusement-ride' Whiplash effect, which could seriously affect the Pilot's ability to fly & fight! Sure, there's the Likely-hood that Flight-controls can be programmed to mitigate this, but, yeah, the Rate-Of-Twist will be that-much slower, letting your Opponent a bigger window to put a shot thru You. That said, this is still Formidable in the context of Space Fights, as the White-Stars have shown quite often.

For some reason I always imagined it was a galaxy class. Probably because they would bring in their best and I would think have at least 1 of them in the fleet. There wasn't anything more top of the line out then I think.

I really dislike this. It feels more like they want new Trek to have its own lore without thinking about the butterflies it should create. Nothing should happen in the canon way in the new shows due to this but it mostly will because they're lazy and don't think about what they're doing.

The whole fan theory of it being a Galaxy class ship comes from the fact that they used the battle bridge set to film his scenes but we've seen other ships of different class's that have bridges of the same design so that doesn't mean anything. Under that logic Captain Desoto must use the sickbay as his ready room because they used the sickbay set to film his scenes in the episode Tin Man.

I don't agree that 'females' are at the bottom of Ferengi society. They're pretty much straight in the middle with a lot of soft power through influencing their family and being protected at the same time, while any unsuccessful male is at the bottom and looked at as worthless.

I've always thought that some of the advancements that the augments enabled were bred into the human population during the century where the Vulcans 'helped' Earth to unify and 'get more civilized'. There's no way that Vulcans wouldn't go for selective breeding given the chance, even might have been done by certain humans in charge. If nothing else, certain augments might have gone underground and bred with the population in general which could spread to a decent portion of the population over the centuries. It would nicely explain how there are so many competent geniuses in humanity in just a few centuries.

It makes complete sense to me. Most of a ship's crew aren't officers that went to the Academy and probably aren't prevented from requesting a specific ship they'd want to serve on. And even some officers might prefer their own people. It must be easier for the same species to work together with their own customs than with different races and there's no reason for Starfleet to create problems in their ships if things work. Officers, on the other hand, go to the Academy and are fully accustomed to working with other species and are at least knowledgeable about their quirks so they'd be more spread out.

Wolf359 was nothing the Federation had much time to plan for, plus it was a question of time to intercept asap in fleet strength. Hanson would have had to do with what he had at hand, Federation at that time had multiple ship classes counting as a heavy cruiser - Ambassador, Excelsior, Nebula, Galaxy. Excelsior would make most sense, they were strong in numbers, not that outdated and surely brought up to 2360s standards. The only thing we can be sure it was not, it was no Miranda nor an Oberth.

The Centurions are out there. What did they do? Did they build their own empire? Did they stay low key? Are they responsible for the Tic-Tac UFO's? Or will we know nothing of them until humanity develops FTL drive?

Hanson's bridge background durring Wolf 359 does actually match up with the Galaxy-class battle bridge set used in TNG. It is not a straight on fore-to-aft view. It appears to be 10-15 degrees off center of the same battle bridge set used by Riker and crew durring Best of Both Worlds. Maybe one of the standing crew station consoles was relocated, but it is clearly the battle bridge. You can see there in the right-hand side of the background the railing and the crew station console attached to it. And then to the left are quad stacked CRT display consoles where the Red alert is displayed. This is one half of the center aft wall section behind Riker in Part II. Anytime there is an Animated LCARs display on the TNG sets, it was an old fashion CRT display, only way they could animate them with pre-rendered video of the graphics. Though it does look there has been some quick re-arrangement of the wall paneling to slight alter it as you alluded to in the Ready Room set. It is possible it's not redressed and we're just not able to see a good enough quality image of the background at the right angle to line it all up. The wall panels and display units were always understood, even in canon to be modular and easily reconfigurable. And also bare in mind, by the time we see the Battle Bridge again in Best of Both Worlds Part II, this is at leastthe 3rd, different configuration of the battle bridge we see in canon, with only 2 standing crew station consoles to either side and behind the command seat. Compare this to the battle bridge from it's Encounter at Farpoint configuration, or even the configuration in Arsenal of Freedom, where there were three standing crew station consoles to the side and behind the command seat. So it is not inconceivable that there are readily different configurations of the battle bridge through out the fleet, as we see some iterration between the 1st and 3-4th seasons of TNG. It is canon to the show that various engineering crews take their liberty in doing as they please with their ships and modify them as the need arises. All this is confirmed in the memory alpha background information for the Battle Bridge, as it was a redress of the Refit Enterprise bridge, and regularly was redressed as the bridge of various starships and rooms. And since the time of this video, even Star Trek Online has established that a Galaxy-class was present at the battle, the USS Columbia NCC-71102. Maybe not canon, but it's certainly leaning that direction. At the end of the day, the original intention, at least according to the Best of Both Worlds script, was that it was a Galaxy-class starship. And that does have to count for something.

Democratic states with free and fair elections can still be xenophobic and imperialist, it's not really the system more the cultural attitudes. There are/have been various very autocratic states in real world earth who remain "neutral" and maintain good relations with their neighbours and then you have Nazi Germany.

Thirdly😅 I have been a bit put off about the Kazon. Unless they breed like rats, their culture, as seen in the show, is conducive to extinction. Seems like every challenge they face is a difference between success or DEATH. They train with live munitions, deadly scenarios, deadly coming of age, deadly if you have another opinion. If they are intelligent, it seems to be because they were enslaved or by luck.

Also. I haven't gotten through the pilot. I wasn't in the mindset to watch it, like more free and childishly fun-loving.

I wish they were better written because you can't have such seemingly simple-minded behaviors and ALSO be smart enough to manufacture starships of any kind, as well as train to fly and fight in them. Even if it is tech they stole. It's nothing like jumpstarting a vintage car.

Small quibble: the primary difference between Fascism and Marxist-Leninist Communism is that Fascism is Nationalist and Communism is Universalist. The defiant as shown in Enterprise most closely matches the Bon Homme Richard subclass variant of the constitution class from a licensed game publishing company that was at the time considered Canon. It had the same modifications: The aft dorsal tractor was moved under the beaver tail of the shuttle bay. In it's place was a turret with twin phaser cannons and a torpedo launcher. It would have also had an additional (physically impossible) 360 degree phaser and 360 degree torp mount. The variant also had more 30 percent more battery capacity and (2) extra APRs. The battle scenes in Enterprise show these additional weapons in action. The Stock Constitution (E.G; NCC 1701) did not have these weapons.

On the note of them being more complicated I feel like they're very similar to Haiti. A formerly enslaved people that rose up against their oppressors only to fall into infighting and constant divisions. If that's true I would have liked to see how the civilian Kazon live. With all the fighting and squabbling going on, is anything getting done? We do see they deeply value water, which is surprisingly easy to replicate, meaning their infrastructure is likely terrible with disease, famine, poverty, and squalor being the norm among the Kazon. Imagine an arc where Seska and Janeway encounter a Kazon village with women and girls. Seska, feeling pity and a kinship with them, decides to help the women and girls rather than Maj Cullah.

One thing: you dont even need to be a Terran to become the Terran Emperor, best (and maybe only) example would be Spock, you just need to be a citizen of the Empire and be able to do such a power grab
